Reporter Aptitude Test: Question Nine
The Fight
The Scenario: Two friends are in a heated argument, and appear likely to
come to blows. A crowd is starting to gather. You would:
Get between
the two of them and try to diffuse the situation. Because they are both
your friends, they are unlikely to strike each other if they have to go
through you to do it. You don't want your friends to embarrass themselves
in front of the growing crowd.
Try to calm
them down but also try to get the crowd to move back and give them room
in case they do come to blows.
Yell "Fight!
Fight!" and draw more people to the situation. Call out strategy to both
friends. (You want people to see you are not the type of person who plays
favorites; you're an equally good friend to both.)
Stand back
from the fight area and look around for something else. The fight is probably
a diversion staged by your "friends" (What is a friend?) to stop you from
discovering something in the area.
Pick your own
fight with the biggest, nastiest person you can find in the crowd. Your
friends will forget their own fight and unite to rescue you.
