Politicians Aptitude Test: Question Two
The Found Money
The Scenario: You're with a group of people who watch as someone drops
a huge wad of cash on the ground and walks away without realizing it. You
would:
Grab that cash
and run after the person who dropped it. If you cannot catch up to the person,
you return to the group and suggest all of the group turn the money in
to the local authorities. If it is unclaimed, you will split the money
with your friends.
Retrieve the
cash and make sure it is evenly divided among the members of the group.
(You don't go to the authorities. Why should they get to pocket this money?)
Tell your group
how fortunate it is that the money was dropped here. You know of a great
restaurant nearby. The money will cover a fine dinner for all of you. You
make a show of putting in just a bit of your own money so you get credit
for the exemplary meal.
Pick up the
cash and take careful descriptions from all of the group of the person
who dropped the money. Then you tell them you will take the money to the
authorities; no need to waste everybody else's time. Of course, you never
go to the authorities. If anyone asks, you reply the descriptions were
so good that the authorities were able to return the money to the person
who dropped it.
Check the money
for the name and address of the person who dropped it.
